What is Urgent Care?

King’s Daughters Urgent Care centers treat the illnesses and injuries of adults and children who cannot wait for a traditional physician appointment, but do not require the services of a hospital emergency department.

Our goal at Urgent Care is to serve as quickly as possible your medical needs. We provide care for situations that do not pose a threat to loss of life or limb. If in doubt, call 911 or go to the nearest dedicated emergency department.

We are available to provide treatment for your urgent medical needs when:

  • your primary care physician’s office is closed or not available after hours, weekends or holidays
  • your medical condition is not serious enough to require the emergency department but still requires immediate attention
  • you don’t have a primary care physician
  • your medical needs are not life-threatening
  • you are visiting from out of town

King’s Daughters Urgent Care centers differ from a typical physician’s office in that they have procedure rooms for stitching lacerations and splinting broken bones, a radiology department for X-ray services and a laboratory for on-site lab tests like strep tests, flu tests, tetanus shots, and blood work. We also provide breathing treatments, high blood pressure stabilization, ear drainage and IV therapy.

Although we can stabilize many illnesses, our Urgent Care centers are not designed to provide ongoing management of chronic conditions. For ongoing medical care, including pain management, contact your primary care physician.

No appointment necessary

At Urgent Care we treat you quickly – without an appointment – often in as few as 30 minutes. If you believe you are in need of immediate attention, please notify our receptionist so you can be evaluated.

Insurance coverage and fees

We work to provide our patients with the best care possible. Our prices are based on operating costs and are competitive with other area facilities. There is a nominal fee that must be paid at the time of service. Additionally, you may be billed separately for lab, imaging, facility or professional fees. We have several payment options including credit card, cash or check.

If you are unable to pay at the time of your visit, there are payment plans available that will allow you payment flexibility. Our financial counselors are very experienced in helping find alternatives for patients who qualify. Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring your photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of your medications, dosages and when taken. In-network patients will be asked to pay their designated co-payment. Out-of-network patients or self-pay patients will be expected to pay in full.

What can I expect at King’s Daughters Urgent Care?

The centers are staffed with highly qualified teams of licensed physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals. We are dedicated to providing you a rapid and effective experience. When you leave one of our facilities, you will be given complete discharge instructions and notified about lab work or X-rays. We also can provide your primary care physician with a summary of your urgent care visit.

What are the advantages of using King’s Daughters Urgent Care versus a hospital emergency department?

King’s Daughters Urgent Care is the best alternative to an emergency department visit for medical problems that are not life-threatening, but need immediate attention. Urgent Care centers typically offers more timely care, access to follow-up care and lower prices than an emergency department. Often, if you have out-of-pocket expenses for Urgent Care, they will be less than out-of-pocket expenses for emergency care.
