Ashland, Ky. – Flu vaccinations for the 2012-2013 flu season are now available at King’s Daughters Family Care, Urgent Care and Medical Specialties centers throughout the region. 
 
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone six months and older get a flu vaccine each year, as soon as the vaccinations are available. “It is especially important that individuals at high risk of developing serious complications be vaccinated,” said Lisa Fritz, KDMC infection control coordinator. “High risk individuals include those with asthma, diabetes and chronic lung disease, as well as pregnant women and people 65 and older,” Fritz said.

Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters welcomes family nurse practitioner Melissa Leuenberger to Health Plus, 255 Old Viking Drive, Morehead. Leuenberger joins fellow family nurse practitioner Wendy Fletcher. 

 
A Morehead native, Leuenberger completed her Masters of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Cincinnati. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biology at Morehead State University.
