ASHLAND, KY — The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) has named the King’s Daughters Safety and Security Department a “Program of Distinction.”
Only three other healthcare security programs worldwide have received the Program of Distinction award, which honors security departments within healthcare facilities that have achieved and maintained a minimum staffing level of 80 percent of IAHSS certified security personnel led by a certified healthcare protection administrator.
“The hospital Security Department is very proud of this accomplishment and this is an example of hospital security professionalism,” says Scott Hill, director of Safety and Security at KDMC.
The IAHSS is the only organization solely dedicated to professionals involved in managing and directing security and safety programs in healthcare institutions. Its 1,600 members have joined together to develop educational and credentialing programs and create a body of knowledge that meets the needs of today‘s fast paced and ever changing environment.
