ASHLAND, KY — King’s Daughters is pleased to welcome interventional cardiologist Ahmad Elesber, M.D., to the medical staff. He has joined the physicians at SV Cardiology, and will practice in Ashland, Grayson and Olive Hill.
Dr. Elesber earned his medical degree (1999), and completed an internship (2000) at American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon. In 2003, he completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, Minn. He also completed two fellowships at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. In 2006, he completed a cardiology fellowship, and this year he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology that included experience in peripheral vascular treatments. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Recently, Dr. Elesber completed the 2007 Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography, which determines special competence in the field of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound based on an objective standard. Presented annually by the National Board of Echocardiography, the examination focuses on such topics as valvular heart disease, congenital defects, physical principles, instrumentation and examination principles.
