King’s Daughters starts new movement disorders support group; first meeting Aug. 2

King’s Daughters has formed a new support group for people with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, restless leg syndrome and other movement disorders, and their families and caregivers. The first meeting of this group will take place 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the KDMC Health Education Center (lower level of the Lexington Avenue parking garage). Guest speakers include neurologists Joseph Bajorek, M.D., and Henry Goodman, M.D. To register or for more information, please call 1-888-377-5362.

Movement disorders are neurological conditions that affect the speed, fluency, quality, and ease of movement. Movement disorders may involve excessive or involuntary movement, ticks and spasms, or slowed, jerky or absent voluntary movement.
