Surgeon Roderick Tompkins, M.D., now offering da Vinci minimally invasive surgery 

Tompkins da Vinci webGeneral Surgeon Roderick Tompkins, M.D., recently became certified in the da Vinci Surgical System, a minimally invasive surgical robot that allows surgeons to use precise, delicate maneuvers through extremely small incisions in the body. Dr. Tompkins is using the da Vinci system for colon surgery, hernia repair, gall bladder removal and more.

Dr. Tompkins has practiced in Ashland since 1997. He received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, in 1992. He completed his surgery residency at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla., in 1997, and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
