Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters Medical Center and the Kentucky Heart Foundation will host its annual Regional Cancer Conference for healthcare professionals from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 in the KDMC Health Education Center (lower level, Lexington Avenue parking facility). The presentation is open to all physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, dietitians and other healthcare providers. 
Registration and breakfast will begin at 8 a.m.., followed by presentations focused on the multidisciplinary care of cancer patients. 
Topics and speakers on the agenda include: 
• Care of the Patient with Neutropenia and Neutropenic Fever, oncologist/hematologist David Goebel, M.D. 
• Final Hours, Sandy Zerkle, R.N., MSN, CHPN, Community Hospice 
• Basics of Pain Management … a Palliative Perspective, Lisa Barker, M.D., Family Practitioner 
• Skin Care of the Patient Receiving Radiation Therapy, Amy Bush, Tri-State Regional Cancer Center
