Take a step toward better health – Walk With A Doc
ASHLAND, Ky. – According
to the American Heart Association, walking has the lowest dropout rate of any
physical activity. And it has major benefits. Walking for as little as 30
minutes a day can:
To encourage patients, families and the community to walk
more, and get more out of it, King’s Daughters Medical Center cardiologists
Vaughn Payne, M.D., Richard Ansinelli, M.D., and Ghassan Dalati, M.D., are
implementing a new walking program in Paintsville.
Walk With A Doc steps off at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at
the Kiwanis Trail, Paintsville Lake State Park. Dr. Payne will lead the first
session. Walkers will gather at 10 a.m., learn more about the benefits of walking
and enjoy a walk on the 1.6 mile Kiwanis Trail with Dr. Payne. Walkers will go
at their own pace and are welcome to bring children, friends and family.
Following the walk, healthy refreshments will be available
and a free baseline screening for blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate and
blood oxygen will be provided. RSVPs are requested, but not required. Please call

Additional Walk With A Doc events are planned for July 28,
Aug. 25, Sept. 22 and Oct. 29.
