Dr. Awaida Earns Medical Oncology Subspecialty Certification

ASHLAND, KY — King’s Daughters Medical Center is pleased to congratulate medical oncologist Amy Awaida, M.D., who recently earned subspecialty certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Awaida, who joined the medical staff last summer, is practicing in association with fellow medical oncologists/hematologists Dana Johnson, M.D., and David Goebel, M.D. Their practice, Tri-State Hematology/Oncology, is located at 617 23rd St., Suite 19, Ashland, Ky. Dr. Awaida received her medical degree in 2000 from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. She completed her residency in 2003, and two fellowships in 2006 at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.

She is married to KDMC gastroenterologist Rony Awaida, M.D., who joined the medical staff in 2005.
