King’s Daughters welcomes neurosurgeon Ondrej Choutka, M.D.  


ASHLAND, Ky. –
King’s Daughters Medical Center welcomes neurosurgeon Ondrej Choutka, M.D., to its medical staff.

As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Choutka specializes in the surgical treatment of neurological disorders andChoutka.Ondrej diseases, including skull base surgery, repair of brain aneurysm, treatment of all brain tumors, surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, peripheral nerve surgery and surgeries to treat stroke and Moyamoya disease (including bypass surgery). He uses minimally invasive techniques to treat disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.

He joins Clark Bernard, M.D., and King’s Daughters Medical Specialties – Neurosurgery, Suite G20, Medical Plaza B, 613 23rd St., Ashland. The office can be reached by dialing (606) 329-1770.

Patients are seen by appointment only; physician referral is required. New patient consults are arranged through the nurse navigator at King’s Daughters Center for Advanced Neuromedicine, (606) 408-2800.

Dr. Choutka earned his medical degree at the University of Oxford Medical School, Oxford, England, and completed further training at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals in the United Kingdom and Royal Perth Hospital in Perth, Australia.

He completed a fellowship in neurosurgery at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati  (2005) and neurosurgery residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (2011), where he also received cerebrovascular advanced training (2009).

Dr. Choutka has published numerous scholarly articles and given presentations worldwide on neurosurgical topics ranging from revascularization procedures to computer-assisted surgery, neurosurgical emergencies and microsurgical techniques.

In addition to his medical interests, Dr. Choutka was a member of the Oxford University basketball team, winning two national titles, and played national league basketball with teams in England (Oxford Devils, National League Champions in 2001) and Australia (Perry Lakes Hawks, State League Champions in 2004).
