ASHLAND, Ky. – Eric Bronstein, M.D., a cardiothoracic surgeon, has joined
the staff of King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Cardiothoracic surgeons specialize in the surgical treatment
of heart disease, including bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement,
surgery to correct defects in the major vessels of the chest, and surgeries for
lung cancer and other disorders of the thoracic area.
Dr. Bronstein has joined the Kentucky Heart Institute and
cardiothoracic surgeons Robert Fried, M.D., and J.C. MacHannaford, M.D., in
Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Kentucky, Suite 210, Medical Plaza B, 613 23rd St.,

Dr. Bronstein comes to Ashland from St. Joseph Regional
Medical Center in Paterson, N.J., where he was director of the Division of
Thoracic Surgery and also had served as chief of cardiothoracic surgery.
Dr. Bronstein also served as assistant clinical professor of
surgery at Columbia University/Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey. From
2007 to 2008, he was director of Robotic and Minimally Invasive Cardiac
Surgery, also at Valley Hospital.
Dr. Bronstein earned his medical degree from the State
University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York; completed
internship and residency at SUNY Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn, N.Y., and
completed fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery at the George
Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Bronstein is board certified by the American Board of
General Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
