KDMC presents Back Pain: Minor Ache or a Major
Back pain is the No. 2
reason Americans miss work each year – only the common cold causes more
absences. So doing something about back pain –
treating it, preventing it – is crucial to workers and employers alike.
Join us as Kim Green, R.N., MSN, Center for Advanced
NeuroMedicine, discusses back pain treatment and preventative measures you can
take to avoid it. This
free educational session takes place from noon to 1 p.m. this Wednesday, in the Park Board Room in King’s
Daughters Parkview Café, 2201 Lexington Ave.

Most tend to self-treat their pain, but if back pain is improperly diagnosed and
treated it can become disabling.
“I want to educate the
public on symptoms and the treatment options available,” Green said.
Common causes of
back pain involve disease or injury to the muscles, bones, and/or nerves of the
spine. Pain arising from abnormalities of organs within the abdomen, pelvis or
chest also may be felt in the back.
