KDMC medical staff welcomes new physicians

The following physicians have joined the medical staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC):

Hospitalist Vivekananda Datla, M.D., is a 2004 medical school graduate of the Institute of Medical Sciences – Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He continued his medical education by completing an internship (2008) and residency (2010) at the University of Alabama­–Birmingham, Selma, Ala.

Dr. Datla joins a growing staff of hospitalists who treat inpatients exclusively at KDMC.

Nephrologist Michael Kasey, D.O., graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, W.Va. (2005). He continued his medical education by completing an internship (2006), residency (2008) and fellowship (2010) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.

Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Kasey specializes in treating diseases and disorders of the kidneys. He practices with James Egel, M.D., Donald Hammonds, D.O., Jerry W. Radiologist Scott Moore, M.D., completed medical school (2004) and an internship (2005) at the Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, W.Va. He continued his medical education by finishing a residency at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester, Mass. (2009); and a fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Richmond, Va. (2010).  

Dr. Moore will be practicing with Tri-State Radiology.

Family physician Cynthia Winger, M.D., is a 1983 medical school graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, W.Va. She continued her medical education by completing a residency at the Kanawha Valley Family Practice Center (KVFPC) located at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, W.Va. (1986). The KVFPC is part of the West Virginia University Physicians of Charleston.

Board certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Winger will be caring for nursing home patients in Ashland; Franklin Furnace, Ohio; and Ironton, Ohio. She can be reached by calling (606) 408-5648.
