KDMC Named One of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky

King's Daughters has been named, for the fourth consecutive year, as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky. KDMC earned 11th place in the large-sized employer category (250 employees or more).

The Best Places to Work in Kentucky program recognizes and rewards the best employers throughout the state. The process to select the top employers includes a two-part examination of an organization’s work culture. The first part asks for documentation of policies, procedures, and data about the workforce and things that differentiate a company from all other employers. The second portion asks randomly-selected team members in-depth questions about what it’s like to work at their company.

"The past year was extraordinarily challenging for many companies, including King's Daughters," said KDMC President/CEO Fred Jackson. "However, our Team remains committed. Through everyone's collective efforts, KDMC was able to continue to grow and add jobs in a very competitive economic climate," he said. "The medical center has more than 5,000 Team Members, physicians and volunteers, making us the largest employer in the region and one of the economic engines of eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio."

New services added at KDMC in the past year include two urgent care centers, greatly expanded heart and vascular services throughout the region, new family care centers in Jackson and Wheelersburg, Ohio, and the establishment of the Center for Advanced NeuroMedicine.

"And while being acknowledged as one of the best places to work in Kentucky is very important to us, we will continually strive to enhance the KDMC work environment for our team members, physicians and volunteers," said KDMC Senior Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness/Chief Leadership Officer Larry Higgins. "To have satisfied team members, who are committed to the KDMC mission and vision, is of the highest importance."

In January, it was announced that KDMC made the national headlines when included on Fortune magazine's roster of the "100 Best Companies to Work For in America."  This is also the third year in a row that KDMC has earned Fortune’s national award.

The Best Places to Work in Kentucky program, now in its fifth year, is an initiative dedicated to finding and recognizing Kentucky's best employers and to raise the bar among Kentucky’s employers by recognizing the very best throughout the state. It is sponsored by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resources Management.
