Cardiothoracic surgeon Juan MacHannaford, M.D., has joined the medical staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC). Dr. MacHannaford comes to KDMC from the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, and joins the nationally-ranked cardiovascular surgery team at KDMC that includes Robert Fried, M.D., and Marcos Nores, M.D.
For three years in a row, KDMC has been named by Thomson Reuters as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals for cardiovascular care. The annual study identifies the 100 U.S. hospitals that are setting the nation’s benchmarks for cardiovascular care.
Dr. MacHannaford completed an endovascular aortic fellowship in 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic. From 2004-2007, he completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Ill. He is a 1999 medical school graduate of the University of Illinois, Chicago, and continued his medical education with the completion of both an internship (2000) and a residency (2004) at the University of Illinois/Metropolitan Group Hospitals, Chicago. Dr. MacHannaford is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
