ASHLAND, KY — The
King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) Blood Bank has been granted
reaccreditation by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).
Accreditation follows an intensive on-site assessment by specially
trained AABB inspectors and establishes that the level of technical
and administrative performance within the facility meets or exceeds
the established standards.

collecting, processing, testing, distributing and administering blood
and blood products,” said pathologist Katalin Kovacs, M.D., medical
director of the KDMC Laboratory. “It is a voluntary process that
demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and sustaining
the highest possible level of patient care.”
King’s Daughters Blood Bank provides blood and blood products for
patient care and surgeries at KDMC.
