Sandra Waddell, of the King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) Home Medical Equipment department has passed the credentialing exam to become a certified Assistive Technology Supplier (ATS). The certification is granted by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).

The ATS credential is intended for service providers who are primarily responsible for patients’ assistive technology needs, from evaluation and assessment, through training and follow-up in the use of that technology. Assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.

RESNA is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary association of persons who share a common interest in the use of technology to address disabilities.
