Sandy Hicks, has been promoted to nurse manager of Endoscopy services at King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC).
A resident of Russell, Ky., Hicks has served as interim manager of Endoscopy services since April, but has been a member of the Endoscopy team since 1998 and a KDMC team member since1995. She has a medical-surgical certification and is a KDMC Nursing Excellence Award winner.
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic medical procedure that is used to assess the interior surfaces of an organ by inserting a tube into the body. The instrument not only provides an image for visual inspection and photography, but also can take biopsies and retrieve foreign objects.
