Mariano Faresi, M.D., has joined the medical staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC), becoming the first colorectal surgeon to practice in this region.
Colorectal surgeons use surgical and non-surgical methods to treat colon and rectal problems. Dr. Faresi comes to KDMC from the Colorectal Clinic/University of Texas, Houston, where he completed advanced fellowship training in the treatment of colon and rectal problems, and full training in general surgery. Among the conditions Dr. Faresi treats are: colorectal cancer; abscesses and fistulas; bowel incontinence; irritable bowel syndrome; Crohn’s disease and diverticular disease.
A 1996 medical school graduate of Buenos Aires University, Argentina, Dr. Faresi completed an internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., in 2002; and residencies at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires in 2001 and Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2007.
