Is quitting tobacco one of your New Year’s resolutions? King’s Daughters Medical Center will offer free tobacco cessation classes in Ashland and Ironton in January. Those who enroll and stay in the program will receive a free three-month membership to either the YMCA in Ashland or Preferred Fitness in Ironton.

The 13-week Stop for Life program uses nicotine replacement therapy, education classes and group support. Classes may be selected from the following locations and schedule. The location, day of the week and time selected by participants for their first class will remain their weekly meeting time throughout the program.

  • Monday, Jan. 6 at 5 p.m. in KDMC’s Health Education Center (lower level of the Lexington Avenue parking garage)
  • Wednesday, Jan. 8 at noon in KDMC’s Health Education Center
  • Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 3 p.m. at the KDMC Urgent Care Center, 912 Park Ave., Ironton

The class is free (excluding nicotine replacement products) but registration is required. For the Ashland classes, contact Hillard Brown at (606) 408-9764. For Ironton classes, call Jessica Blankenship at (740) 534-0021.
