King's Daughters Medical Center will host Healthy for the Holidays from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 in the Heart and Vascular Center, a free event featuring health screenings, free flu shots for adults 18 and over, giveaways, raffle drawings and healthy refreshments. 

In addition, King's Daughters will collect non-perishable food items for River Cities Harvest at the event. For each item donated, the Medical Center will contribute $1 to River Cities Harvest to help them purchase perishable food for people in need. 

Free screenings at Healthy for the Holidays will include:

  • Healthy Heart plus EKG
  • Varicose Vein
  • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) (for high risk adults, including those 50 and older with a risk factor for PAD such as tobacco use, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension and leg pain).
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Sleep Apnea 
  • Joint Pain
  • Skin Cancer

Appointments are recommended for the screenings by calling 1-888-377-KDMC.

Kynect Health Exchange representatives will also be on hand. Kynect is Kentucky's healthcare connection that provides individuals, families and small businesses with easy, one stop shopping to find the healthcare coverage they need.

Free shuttle service will be provided to and from the event for those who park in the 24th Street and Central Avenue Valet lot.
