King’s Daughters Family Pharmacy is accepting donations of used printer (ink and toner) cartridges to benefit the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund, an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of last chance animals, most of whom have maxed out their time at tri-state shelters and animal control facilities and would otherwise be euthanized.
“My wife, Jennifer and I, along with members of her family, are founding members of AARF,” said Jason Baier, Pharm D, of KDMC Family Pharmacy. “We see so many used ink and toner cartridges being disposed of, we thought we could put them to good use!” Jennifer also works as a pharmacist in King’s Daughters inpatient pharmacy.
AARF will receive $2 per cartridge turned in for recycling that will be used to purchase healthcare, food, and other supplies for the animals.
Printer cartridge donations can be delivered directly to King’s Daughters Family Pharmacy located on the first floor of Medical Plaza B, 613 23rd St., Ashland. Parking is available across 23rd Street in the outpatient lot. Pharmacy hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
AARF provides vaccination, spay/neuter services and other medical care to the animals in the rescue program. “Without donations, we cannot continue to save lives,” said Baier.
