King's Daughters welcomes vitreoretinal surgeon John Kitchens, M.D., from Retina Associates of Kentucky who will be performing surgeries at Tri-State Ophthalmology Associates in Ashland. He joins ophthalmologists Carter Gussler, M.D., and John Gross, M.D.
Dr. Kitchens earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis. He completed residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Dr. Kitchens completed fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Vitreoretinal (retina) specialists are ophthalmologists specializing in treatment of all retina diseases including macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes, and diabetic retinopathy.
