Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters Medical Center has been selected by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists to participate in a national Mentored Adult Immunization Impact Program. Leigh Ann Keeton, PharmD, BCPS, will lead the team, which is focused on improving immunization rates of our hospitalized adult patients. King’s Daughters was selected through a competitive application process and is one of 17 participating sites across the country. 

More than 50,000 adults in the U.S. die from vaccine-preventable diseases or their complications each year. Despite the availability of vaccines, many adults remain unvaccinated because they are unaware of the need for adult vaccines or are misinformed about vaccines and the diseases they are designed to prevent.

King's Daughters will be offering free flu shots for adults beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at Belk Women's Store at the Ashland Town Center Mall. 200 immunizations are available and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
