Registration is being accepted for the King’s Daughters Stroke Symposium, which includes a dinner program Thursday evening, May 20, and a day program on Friday, May 21. The symposium takes place at the King’s Daughters Health Education Center (lower level of the Lexington Avenue parking garage). To register or for more information, please call (606) 408-6829, (606) 408-4619, or go online to kdmc.com/register and select the Stroke Symposium.

Target audience includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, speech, physical and occupational therapists, pharmacists, radiologic techs, social workers and other interested healthcare professionals. There is no charge for the program, and continuing education credit is available.

KDMC earned this distinction after a recent Joint Commission on-site review. King’s Daughters has earned the Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers. Echocardiography is one of the leading tools in the diagnosis of heart disease, with more than 10 million echocardiograms performed annually in the United States.

King’s Daughters recently received re-accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Labs (ICAEL). King’s Daughters echocardiography services have been accredited since 2007.
