Ashland, Ky. – Hospitalist Barbara Michael, M.D., has joined the medical staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC).
King's Daughters Medical Center is opening a new Urgent Care Center in downtown Ashland beginning Wednesday, August 19. The center is located at 2245 Winchester Ave., and will be open weekdays 4 p.m. to midnight, and weekends noon to midnight. Appointments are not necessary and walk-ins are the only type of patients accepted.
Daughters Medical Center now is officially licensed as a 465-bed
medical center. KDMC received the final notice in late July from
Kentucky’s Office of the Inspector General within the Cabinet for
Health and Family Services. This enables the medical center to
increase licensed inpatient bed capacity from its previous 385 to
465, making it the largest hospital in the Tri-State region and the
9th largest hospital in Kentucky in terms of licensed acute care beds.
