Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters Medical Center and the Kentucky Heart Foundation will host its annual Regional Cancer Conference for healthcare professionals from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 in the KDMC Health Education Center (lower level, Lexington Avenue parking facility). The presentation is open to all physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, dietitians and other healthcare providers. 
 
Registration and breakfast will begin at 8 a.m.., followed by presentations focused on the multidisciplinary care of cancer patients.

Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters Medical Specialties in Paintsville will conduct free joint pain screenings beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at their office — 313 West St., Suite 2. 
 
Joint pain is extremely common: as many as one-third of adults report having experienced joint pain in the past 30 days. Causes include arthritis, bursitis, gout, strains, sprains, normal wear and tear, aging and other injuries.

Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters Medical Specialties - Pulmonary and Critical Care will present a free health fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 27. The event, “SMOKERS — It’s O.K. To Be a Quitter,” will take place at the KDMS - Pulmonary and Critical Care office at KDMC Medical Plaza B, 613 23rd St., Suite G30, Ashland, Ky. 
 
The event will include a reception from 1 to 2 p.m. with light refreshments, pulse oxymetry and blood pressure screenings followed by a smoking cessation presentation by physician’s assistant, Robin Presley.

Ashland, Ky. - King’s Daughters Medical Specialties will present a free health fair from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, July 27. The event, “Controlling the Two Bs — Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure,” will take place at the KDMS - Endocrinology office at 2025 Carter Ave., Ashland, Ky. The event is jointly sponsored by King’s Daughters endocrinologists and nephrologists. 

Free screenings will include blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and foot exams. King’s Daughters endocrinologists Hazel Yang, M.D., and Prasanna Santhanam, M.D., along with nephrologists Michael Kasey, D.O., and Charbel Salem, M.D., will be available to answer questions. In addition, participants will have access to a diabetes educator and a registered dietitian from King’s Daughters. Light refreshments will be provided.
