Some 30 months after the initial opening of the King’s Daughters Heart and Vascular Center, the top floor of the facility is scheduled to begin operations. The fourth floor, which had been empty, now houses the 24-bed Heart and Vascular Intermediate Unit (HVIU), and the 26-bed Chest Pain Unit (CPU). The CPU, which is an outpatient observation unit, begins patient care on Dec. 29, and the HVIU, a cardiac inpatient unit, opens Jan. 2.

The King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) Breast Care Center recently completed its annual mammography accreditation review from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration, meeting all requirements.
In response to requests from the community, the Portsmouth Cardiology Clinic has been established to provide antithrombosis services for patients taking blood thinner medications. The new clinic is housed in the Kentucky Heart and Vascular Physicians office, located on the second floor of the King's Daughters Medical Specialties Center, 2001 Scioto Trail.
