King's Daughters Mobile Health Units

King’s Daughters Medical Center has provided a mobile health outreach program for more than 15 years. Operating three mobile health units, the program brings needed testing, screening, prevention, education and occupational medicine services to communities, businesses and locations throughout the Tri-State area.

The Mobile Mammography Unit

Our Mobile Mammography Unit provides mammograms throughout eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.

The mobile unit is staffed by the same, highly qualified, specially trained mammography technologists as the Center for Advanced Imaging. The Mobile Mammography Unit visits many of the King's Daughters Family Care Centers every month, as well as other providers, workplaces and businesses in the communities we serve. 

King's Daughters Mobile Mammography Unit uses all-digital equipment, which helps reduce radiation exposure. A physician order is not required for screening mammography. Mammograms are not a free service; normal fees apply. Most insurance plans cover mammography services.

Occupational Medicine 

King's Daughters Occupational Medicine department offers mobile services to area employers and businesses on a contract basis. The service includes many OSHA-required services, physicals, DOT drug screens, audiometric testing, and more.

We are Grateful 

We are grateful to community leaders and philanthropists for support of our Mobile Health Program:

• King’s Daughters Auxiliary Mobile Health Unit was put into service in the Fall of 2011 and is named in honor of a $150,000 pledge from the Medical Center’s Auxiliary. It replaced a much older unit that had served the community for many years, traveling over 150,000 miles across the hills and valleys of Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio.
• The Mansbach Foundation provided funding for a second mobile health unit, which was put into service in February 2012. The unit is dedicated to the memory of Samuel Mansbach and Donald H. Putnam Jr. This mobile unit also received support from the Social Innovation Fund of the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, which provided funding for equipment.
• King's Daughters Mobile Mammography Unit began providing screening mammograms and education on breast health in 2009. This unit was a project of the KDMC Health Foundation and had many generous donors including proceeds from the Rocky Adkins Golf Outing.
