A Collaborative Approach to Joint Care
King's Daughters Joint Center offers a collaborative approach among physicians, nurses and therapists, who are with you “step by step” on your journey back to independence. Each team member is specially trained to care for total joint replacement patients. Patients are encouraged to take advantage of our free Joint School, which helps patients anticipating total joint replacement learn about the surgery and recovery process. We encourage patients to attend and bring a friend, relative or neighbor who will serve as their “coach” throughout treatment and recovery.
Our specially designed inpatient orthopedics unit provides large, private rooms with accommodations for friends and family, flat screen TV with cable and free wireless Internet. You and your family can enjoy unlimited visiting hours and each room is equipped with a recliner and sleeper sofa.
Our specially trained orthopedic surgical team specializes in the care of orthopedic patients, manage work hand in hand with your surgeon to ensure a safe, comfortable recovery. Our team of hospitalist physicians is available to manage any needed medical care during the inpatient stay.
A large, multi-purpose room is designated exclusively for surgical orthopedic patients and furnished with a stationary bike, stairs and other equipment designed to get you started on your rehab journey.
Nurse Navigator
Our Orthopedic Nurse Navigator helps coordinate surgical care and provides a support system, based on your individual needs, for you and your caregivers.
Weeks before your scheduled surgery, your nurse navigator will contact you and your caregivers to provide step-by-step instructions to prepare for your surgery. Throughout the course of your treatment, your nurse navigator will stay with you, providing every service you might need to make your experience as stress-free and pleasant as possible.
