Guiding the Cancer Journey
Nurse navigators are patient educators and advocates, care coordinators, healthcare system navigators and community ambassadors on a mission to improve the cancer experience for the patient and their family ... from diagnosis to treatment. The nurse navigator serves as a bridge to all services available to people with cancer who are receiving treatment at KDMC.
Early involvement of patient navigators assists patients and their families in accessing appropriate care and treatment quickly, dramatically improving the chance of a successful outcome. By navigating patients around barriers, nurse navigators help ensure patients receive the most appropriate, individualized care possible.
