Cancer Treatment: A Collaborative Approach
Perhaps more than any other medical discipline, the treatment of cancer requires the expertise of many. Medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, family physicians, specialized physicians, nurses, physical therapists, researchers, dietians, social workers, pastoral care ... the team may incorporate some, or all of these professionals, working together to provide the most effective, evidence-based treatment for patients with cancer.
Surgical Oncology
For many types of cancer, surgery is the first-line treatment of choice, either alone or in combination with other therapies. Our surgical oncology program offers advanced treatment options for many cancers, including those that affect the lungs, chest wall, skin, breast and digestive systems. Our surgical team includes board-certified surgeons, an experienced operating room staff, clinical pathologists and more.
